The research and development (R&D) division of EMOGAS Limited focus on strengthening the Natural Gas Industry by promoting effective, gas and gas-related innovation in all aspects of the natural gas value chain; from associated gas (AG) production and processing, through transmission, storage and distribution, to utilization as gas-to-liquid (GTL) conversion products, natural gas (NGLs), compressed natural gas (CNG), or its liquids (for examples, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)). 

We are particularly interested in initiating, conducting and completing global contract research and development projects within Nigeria so as to contribute to the realization of the much touted Nigerian Gas Master-Plan initiated by the Federal Government of Nigeria. All our gas and gas-related R&D projects are carried out by dedicated, multi-disciplinary Project Teams, which include experts and consultants from both academia and industry. 

As we seek to be a global, authoritative voice and Centre of Excellence in natural gas R&D, we are well-prepared, ready, willing and able to take part in international collaborative R&D projects. Current research interests at EMOGAS include one or more aspects of:

• Natural gas engineering and technology (particularly production and processing)
• LNG technology (production, processing, safety, transport, storage, optimization)
• LPG handling, LPG cylinder/accessories, LPG equipment design and optimization
• Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) Conversion Technologies
• Unconventional natural gas sources (shale gas, tight gas, coal-bed methane, etc)
• Gas pipeline technology/hydraulics;
•  Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs)
• Crude oil refining technologies and petrochemical processes
